According to my LJ it's been 18 weeks since I posted last - what a lazy tosser I am!

Loads has happened in that time, most of which is good stuff :D

Will be playing at Maschinenfest this year, which is cool. Also, the new album 'Fractured' will be released there.... just got the final master back and am sooooo fucking happy with it..... Heh heh.....

Just finished a remix of Boy Is Fiction, which is up for download from the List Recs website (www.listrecords.co.uk) - let me know what you think of it..

Already started work on the next album, and one of the tracks 'Lead Balloons' is to be included on a compilation cd by my special friends in Athens... Also feature vocals from the lovely Katia, which turned out very, very well indeed (ta Katia)...

So since the last time I posted I have now defected to Appleland.... I looovvvve my Mac so much.... And also got a wonderful Roland Juno-G and Nord Micro. Want to get a full-on Nord now tho, which is a prob.... but that'd just be plain silly....

Another thing I've discovered is just how different the summing is in Ableton Live compared to Logic... Even if you write the track in Live, then render everything into Logic it just sounds so much richer.....

A chance encounter with the herb Milk Thistle has also produced some very unexpected, and wonderful results. It has made such a fucking difference to my moods, to the extent that I am now having more good days than bad days........ :D

This is sounding like a fucking infommercial...... Rubbish.....

So, how is everyone?

After a big lump of pissy depression, I'm feeling really quite good :D Altho "special" friend is away in the States at the mo, which is pretty rubbish.... so doing the big sighing missing thang......

Sound card completely and utterly fucking died on Sunday, which meant a bailing out from the credit card to get new one. Got a Focusrite Saffire, and it's lurvly..... Got onboard DSP's etc too, which is cool. Weigh's around 452Million pounds though......

Gonna get started on the Boy Is Fiction remix next.... then some new Detritus stuff.. Got the lovely Katia doing vocals as well now, which should be good, altho it's going to be done on a using improvised stuff she does to start with rather than the other way round...

Predictably I want crisps.....

Been kicked in the arse by a fucking awful and utterly pointless depression that has no basis in anything that I am aware of it. Cunting shat. Beer = friend.

Apart from the obvious whine above, Athens was good. Well, apart from my soundcard crashing towards the end of my set requiring a reboot..... had to happen sooner or later I guess. But made some new really, really good friends, and also saw the Acropolis:



Need to write some more music. But got the whole thang of everything I do sounding completely shat, so it's unlikely at the mo... But fucking NEED TO!

Playing in Slimes again very soon (cheers Tony & Erica), which should be good. Not been there for fucking AGES! But before that, of course, there is the Leeds loveathon ;)

Meh. Got weird stuff in head, that is dangerous and don't want.

Got all the remixes in for the Detritus album, and both of them are fucking awesome (by DJ Hidden and Keef Baker respectively)... So it's all done now and ready to go to master....... Definitely have a different "vibe" about this album compared to my others.... Very pleased with it indeed, and still dont have the urge to want to go back and change anything..... a first for me.......

Been a randomly poo couple of days, for no reason whatsoever.... Hate that, when it happens.... Mood's been really shit generally, and I've been completely unproductive.... arses........

Sam is coming back from my parents house tomorrow, after a week's holiday with them ... been really quiet here without him.........

Something rather strange, but pleasant happened yesterday.... I bought myself an Archos 504 out of my bonus.... It's fucking lurvly, and the battery on my Iaudio was running out of the will to live...So.... was walking past the shop I bought it from yesterday and the manager comes running out after me to tell me that it had dropped in price by £100, and refunded it for me (without me having the receipt).... how cool is that?! Bit of a shocker, but a nice one :) It's a bit disturbing however that the sound on the Archos is better than on my sound card (an M-Audio Audiophile).... Think it's time to upgrade when I get my redundancy dosh through.....

Well the gig in Altenburg was enormously fun.... Met some FUCKING great people ;) ...

And Nicolas didnt even steal my covers ;) heh heh.... Some pics.... pardon the gurning.... you must be used to it by now....

Been quiet for a while.... couple of reasons.... firstly, been really, really occupied with the whole A Wake A Week thing... Did very little for 10 days apart from writing material, and have finished the first album.... Very much a product of how I was feeling over the couple of weeks, and also terribly cathartic for the shit that's been happening over the last couple of years really... Is very personal, but admittedly fucking depressing stuff... And I'm very proud of it... It's going to be coming out on List Recs around June......

Also, the SSRI's I'd been on reacted very, very badly with me... Which is at least part of the reason I think for the amount of material I wrote in such a short space of time. Have stopped them now, and feel infinitely better for it.....

Anyway.... got a new live set together and rehearsed for the blob of gigs I've got over the next 6 weeks, starting on Saturday in Leipzig. Playing 5 tracks I've not done live before so it's a little scary, but I wanted a overhaul of the set.... Been rehearsing it since 6am yesterday, with a bit of sleep chucked in for good measure... Fucking knackered now, so time for some beers and a break.....

Just had THE best sandwich ever in the history of the universe.... Bombay Bad Boy and cheese, dipped in fried egg... OMG .... so fucking yumtastic.

Written 5 tracks since friday for A Wake A Week, which is a bit mental really. But at least I'm using my no-sleep quota productively. :) Not sure whether to release what I currently have (as they seem to all fit together so well) as a mini-album, or just take a breather and write some more to make it a full length release. Whatever happens it'll be coming out on List Recs at some point this year I'd imagine. Haven't even done myself a MyShat page yet.......

Have dumped the ssri's as well now. Made me feel like dog shat, so bollocks to them :D

Well, I've started up my new project called "A Wake A Week"... Got the first track together, if anyone fancies listening to it...

Birthday was good :D Went for pizza with Sam in the afternoon then for drinks in the evening. Lovely :)

Been a weird couple of days tho.... no sleep again, and today has been a particularly odd one..... Dunno why... just kind of sprung from nowhere....

So, now the album's done it's onto other stuff.. Loads of gigs coming up, so got new live set to do for those. Gonna be an almost completely new set, so lots of work to do..... Then I'm gonna work on some other stuff I've been randomly working on, which is pretty different to Detritus I think.........

It's not like Origin. Not too much sweetness going on. Maybe next time round eh  .... ;)

Been a while since I posted, so cant remember what I've said/not said.

Oh yeah, went to shrink the other day. Possibly being diagnosed as Bipolar Type II as well as BPD.... yay! Doesn't really change anything tho to be honest. Meds are pretty much the same, and the diagnostic differences are largely academic in many ways.... Bored of the whole thing now... But I've been put on SSRI's and anti-psychotics..... They can stick the anti-psychotics up their arse, but the SSRI's are fun at the mo :D

How is everyone?? Been pretty disconnected for ages it seems..... up my own crack with finishing the album and lots of other stuff.... Feel "out of touch"....

Hate this. When I am really shitty about trying to sleep. Dont want those fucking shit dreams again. Got to stop soon tho.

So the plan with the mood stabilisers didnt turn out so good..... Not had a good day. And in the true spirit of BPD, I have decided that they're a piece of shit and I will never take them again ;) Got pissed as shit just so I could feel something again...

Loads n loads to do..... About 1/3 of the way through mixing the album, and I have become uber-anal, even for me! Really happy with how things are going tho.....

Also, decided to start up a label again, now that I'll soon be having more time to dedicate to it... Musically it's gonna be a kind of electronica, post-rock, ambient, classical, trip-hop...etc... kind of thing.....

Mood's have been dominating way too much in the last few weeks, so have gone back on the mood stabilisers, if only for a little while.... Enough for me to get a grip over myself and my currently chaotic life.......
